Maharjan's The King From Gopal Dynasty

Maharjan's are one of the original Newar castes or groups of Nepal, predominantly from Patan, Kirtipur, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu in Kathmandu Valley Newars are mixture of Indo-European people like Lichhavis, Mallas, Koliyas, Shakyas from Aryavart that is Indo-Gangetic plain present day Uttar Pradesh and Bihar  in India (Aryavart means Home of Aryans) and Austro- asian and mongolian people like Kirat, Ahir Gupta Maharjan people are also called Jyapu . Jya means work  and Pu means complete.  This term was given to them by later dynasties after they were displaced from political power. Since the Vedic Period jyapus ruled Nepal.First  dynasty of Jyapus is Gopal Dynasty followed by  Mahishpal Dynasty, collectively these dynasties are  known as Ahir Dynasty.  Kirat Dynasty ruled for 1000  years after Ahirs. The Head Of Barbarik ( Akash Bhairav )

The Mahabharata talks about this powerful king called Babarik who would turn the tides of the Kurukshetra war by taking the Pandava side and Lord Krishna chops off his head , to avoid the calamity. Nepali Newars of Kathmandu, especially the “Jyapu” community believe that this chopped off head flew all the way to Kathmandu and landed on the site where the famous “ Akash Bhairav ” temple stands today . The Existence Of Royal Till This 21St Century Nepal .

 Well many people know about Shah Dynasty in general to todays date . But the point to be remembered is there had been many Royal Dynasty \ Families and still those Royal families exist . IE from Gopal , Mahespal ,Kirat , Licchavi , Malla etc .  For live example  The last king of Mustang (1930-2016) At the end of the 18th century the kingdom was annexed by Nepal. Though still recognized by many  Mustang  residents, the monarchy officially ceased to exist on October 7, 2008 by order of the Government of Nepal. The last official and current unofficial king (Raja or Gyelpo) is  Jigme Dorje Palbar Bista  . Like wise the Kings and there's family from Gopal , Mahispal , Kirat , Licchavi , Malla etc are still on existence to todays date .
